Members of Troop 168 observed the 11th Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony led by the Lewis B. Puller Jr Detachment Marine Corps League #524.  It was held on September 8, 2018, at the Army Heritage Education Center in Carlisle.

2018 Scouting for Food

Saint Patrick Parish Boy Scout program will again participate in Scouting for Food!

Pack 168 will canvass door to door and distribute flyers on 3 November; Troop 168 will re-canvass the same area and pick up the donated food on 10 November.  

Troop 168 earns Honor Troop Award at Rodney Scout Camp

Twenty-five (25) of our Scouts earned the Honor Troop Award at summer camp the week of June 17-23, 2018, at Rodney Scout Reservation in North East, MD. This marks the sixth consecutive year T168 earned this distinction!  To earn the Honor Troop Award, the troop must maintain a healthy and safe campsite and participate in several camp-wide competitions and events. 

While at camp, our Scouts earned 62 merit badges in 34 diverse areas: Animation, Archery, Athletics, Bird Study, Camping, Canoeing, Citizenship in The World, Climbing, Communication, Cooking, Cycling, Engineering, Environmental Science, Fishing, Forestry, Game Design, Geocaching, Kayaking, Leatherwork, Lifesaving, Motorboating, Nature, Orienteering, Personal Fitness, Pottery, Rifle Shooting, Robotics, Rowing, Shotgun Shooting, Small Boat Sailing, Soil and Water Conservation, Swimming, Water Sports, Weather, Wilderness Survival and Wood Carving.  Three of our older Scouts were able to Jet Ski.  During the week, ten (10) Scouts advanced in Rank. 


Award of NCCS St. George Emblem


Very Reverend William C. Forrey, V.F., was awarded the St. George Emblem during Saint Patrick Church's Scout Sunday Mass on February 4, 2018!  


The St. George Emblem is awarded by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting®.  Its purpose is to recognize the recipient's outstanding contribution to the spiritual development of Catholic youth in the program of the Boy Scouts of America.


Troop 168 has earned the Pope Paul VI National Catholic Unit Excellence Award for the 11th consecutive year!

Cooperation, development, and program are the key words in the recognition of Catholic chartered units in earning the National Catholic Quality Unit Award - Pope Paul VI. The adult leadership responds to training not only in Scouting lores, but training in Catholic Scouter Development, and religious counseling. The Scouts in each Pack, Troop, Team, and Crew/Ship respond by participating in the religious emblems program respective of their status in Scouting.
